A Message from the Superintendent

Dear SBISD Families,

On June 24, SBISD’s Board of Trustees afforded me an incredible opportunity to lead our fantastic family of students, parents, educators, staff and community members. I love our community for so many reasons, but most importantly, for how my own family was embraced and made to feel so welcome from Day One.

Since that day many years ago, I’ve been surrounded by SBISD educators, community members, friends and neighbors who believe in the power of education to transform and shape lives. I am so grateful, and I promise to sustain and support this strong and unique Spring Branch community belief on behalf of Every Child we serve.

Being named Superintendent of Schools is beyond exciting, but I am equally excited about being a mom in SBISD. Our son, too, will be heading back to class this fall to continue his journey. I share the same anticipation and the same anxieties of the unknown that often come with a new school year – as I am sure you feel, too.

What reassures me is my family’s decision to entrust our child to SBISD educators and staff who share my commitment to meeting the unique academic and social/ emotional needs of my child (and Every Child!) in an environment where safety and security also are priorities. As a parent, I could not be any more thankful. As a leader, I could not be any more proud.

I promise to lead with passion and keep your children at the forefront of every decision. I will continue to focus our school system on doing the right and very best work for all of our kids as we help them grow, learn and achieve T-2-4 goals (completion of Technical, 2- or 4-year degrees after graduation).

See you in August!
