ACT Scores for Spring Branch ISD Students Far Exceed State, National Averages

A new report shows Spring Branch ISD high school students far exceeded Texas and national averages on the ACT test, a key college readiness exam.

The report shows Spring Branch ISD had higher average scores than the state and nation in every subject and composite over the past five years, and a far higher percentage of students meeting ACT college readiness indicators.

“We have incredible teachers and school administrators at Spring Branch ISD, and the work they are doing to help our students be ready for success at the next level is just unparalleled,” Superintendent Jennifer Blaine said. “Our students work very hard to succeed and they do an amazing job.”

As an example, for the class of 2021, 86 percent of Spring Branch ISD students met ACT’s college readiness benchmark in English, compared to 52 percent in Texas and 56 percent nationwide.

A total of 487 students from SBISD’s class of 2021 took the ACT during high school. SBISD has outperformed both the state and nation in average composite scores for each graduating class since 2006.
