April Fine Arts Spotlight: Celia Lopez and Cara Moreno - Champions of Creative Expression
 

 

In the vibrant mix of our district's fine arts program, two students shine brightly as examples of creativity, leadership and artistic excellence.

Meet Celia Lopez and Cara Moreno, whose remarkable talents and unwavering dedication have enriched our community and inspired their peers.

Celia Lopez: With a lively spirit and a talent for artistic expression, Celia Lopez has left an indelible mark. A gifted artist known for her unique approach and boundless creativity, Celia's passion for art extends beyond traditional mediums into the realm of digital creation, where she crafts original characters that captivate the imagination.

"Celia is the kind of student who lights up a room when she walks in. Her creativity and colorful approach to art are beautiful and impactful. She inspires others around her to strive for more by pushing themselves to their best," said Brooke Romas, Fine Arts Teacher at Northbrook Middle School.

Celia's journey in the fine arts has been one of continuous growth and exploration. From showcasing her artworks during Hispanic Heritage Month to contributing to various projects with her unique vision, Celia's dedication and talent have earned her admiration and respect from both peers and teachers alike.

In her own words, Celia reflects on her artistic journey, "My teachers inspired me to create art. Their guidance and encouragement helped me improve my skills and explore new techniques. Participating in fine arts helped me develop communication skills and confidence, paving the way for future artistic endeavors."

As she prepares to embark on the next chapter of her artistic journey at Northbrook High School, Celia remains steadfast in her commitment to pursuing her passion for art, particularly in the realm of digital art and character design.

Cara Moreno: From a shy sixth-grader to a confident leader, Cara Moreno's journey in the fine arts has been one of personal growth and artistic discovery. 

Jenna Hyatt, Cara's choir teacher, praises her growth and enthusiasm. "Cara is incredibly enthusiastic and curious about every new experience she has in choir. She instinctively leads her classmates and brings out the best in everyone around her."

Guided by her passion for music and inspired by Ms. Hyatt, Cara has emerged as a dynamic force within the school's choir program, captivating audiences with her soulful voice and dedication.

For Cara, the joy of participating in the arts lies in the transformative power of music and the sense of community it fosters.

From memorable performances to collaborative rehearsals with the high school choir, Cara cherishes every moment spent making music with her peers.

"Ms. Hyatt's support has been instrumental in building my confidence and fostering a sense of camaraderie within our choir," said Cara. "Through choir, I've developed valuable skills in teamwork, problem-solving, and time management, which will undoubtedly serve me well in the future."

As she looks ahead to her journey at Northbrook High School, Cara remains committed to pursuing her passion for music, with choir set to play a central role in her high school experience.
