Class of 2026 Spotlight I Jack LaFleur

Jack LaFleur, Class of 2026 at Spring Woods High School (SWHS), has built his success through discipline, consistency and a clear sense of direction.

As a three-sport student-athlete, he balanced football, powerlifting and baseball while developing the work ethic, resilience and accountability that reflect the Core Characteristics of a Spring Branch ISD T-2-4 Ready Graduate.

Originally from Mamou, Louisiana, LaFleur moved to Texas at age 8, a transition he says helped shape his perspective and determination. That early experience, combined with years of hard work, taught him the importance of adaptability and staying focused on long-term goals.

On the football field, LaFleur made his mark as one of Spring Woods’ most dependable leaders. He recorded 101 tackles, eight sacks and two interceptions during his senior season, earning District Defensive MVP honors, first-team all-district recognition at tight end and second-team Academic All-State honors. As a football team captain, he led through preparation, consistency and setting the standard for others to follow.

In powerlifting, LaFleur qualified for the state meet and earned Academic All-State Elite honors, demonstrating the same discipline and commitment in the weight room that he carried into competition and the classroom.

On the baseball field, he posted a .300 batting average and was a two-time first-team all-district designated hitter, helping lead the program to its first playoff appearance in 17 years. His ability to compete at a high level across three sports showed not only athletic talent, but also the time management and perseverance needed to succeed in multiple demanding environments.

For LaFleur, athletics were never just about competition. They were about building habits that would prepare him for life beyond high school.

“School always comes first and I put as much effort into your schoolwork as sports,” LaFleur said.

That mindset carried into the classroom, where he maintained a 4.2 GPA while earning multiple academic all-district and Academic All-State honors. He also participated in the school’s welding program, gaining hands-on, career-ready experience that added another layer to his preparation for the future.

Leadership and service remained central throughout his high school journey. In addition to serving as a team captain, LaFleur mentored younger students through elementary reading programs and volunteered at field day events. Those experiences reinforced the importance of leading by example and using his influence to support others.

He credits his coaches and family for helping shape his path, providing the guidance and accountability that pushed him to stay disciplined and focused. Through their support, he learned that leadership is built through consistency, responsibility and showing up for others every day.

LaFleur represents the district's T-2-4 vision for all students through his commitment to academics, athletics, service and career readiness. His success reflects the belief that preparation, perseverance and character create opportunities for the future.

In the fall, he will continue his academic and athletic career at Tabor College, where he has earned a scholarship to play football, turning years of preparation into his next opportunity.
