Class of 2026 Spotlight I Kamdyn Hulse

As Kamdyn Hulse, Stratford High School (SHS) class of 2026, prepares to walk across the graduation stage later this month, she is reflecting on her years in Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) with gratitude and excitement for the future ahead.

“My experience in SBISD has positioned me well for a successful future, one where I can be independent, grow and have a positive impact on the world,” she said. “The teachers have always believed in me, and that support has given me the confidence to push myself and keep going, even when things felt challenging. SBISD helped me build the skills I will need to succeed after graduation, and I’m excited to take what I’ve learned into my next chapter.”

One of the teachers who helped shape that confidence was her precalculus teacher, Mr. Weyer, who she said encouraged students to see mistakes as opportunities to grow.

“He taught me to stay positive and never give up, no matter how challenging a problem may seem,” she said.

She also credits her dad with having a profound impact on her life by always encouraging her to improve and showing up when she needed support. His guidance, she said, taught her to stay disciplined, set goals and follow through, even when it would have been easier to give up. When life felt uncertain, she knew she could count on him for steady support and honest advice.

His presence helped shape the resilience she has carried for years. As a child, Kamdyn said she moved frequently and often changed schools. While many students would find those transitions difficult, she learned to adapt quickly and stay open to new people and environments.

As she navigated those changes, Kamdyn found stability and direction through SBISD’s Career and Technical Education program. Grateful for the experience, she said the program taught her the value of teamwork, commitment and preparing for life beyond high school.

“SBISD helped me become someone who is responsible, ready and prepared to handle real-world experiences,” she said. “I’m excited about my next chapter and all of the possibilities that await.”

After graduation, Kamdyn plans to enlist in the Air Force, eager to embark on a future filled with opportunity.

“SBISD has given me the confidence to move forward and the discipline to keep going, no matter what comes next,” she said.
