Girl Scouts' Brownie Troop 126034 donated more than 300 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to the Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) Police Department.
When spring rolls around, the checkbooks come out. It’s cookie time. For over 100 years, Girl Scouts have gone door-to-door, selling cookies to friends and family. The funds from these cookie sales go back to the Girl Scout council and troop, providing funds for scouts who may require financial assistance for program events.
This spring, Brownie Troop 126034, incoming third graders at Meadow Wood Elementary, set out to sell their cookies. Reaching out to friends and family, sales began pouring in, and the troop members excitedly watched their sales climb. However, selling cookies wasn't their only goal this spring. The troop, wanting to give back to the community, encouraged their buyers to consider donating cookies to their chosen recipient, the SBISD Police Department.
Eagerly anticipating the drop-off, scheduled for Friday, June 20, the department awaited the special delivery. At noon, several troop members arrived. With their car full of baked goods, they began unloading. In total, the troop donated 27 cases to the police station, totaling more than 300 boxes. The fun didn't stop there. Officers took the troop and their families on a personal tour to get a behind-the-scenes look at their station.
The SBISD Police Department was grateful for the thoughtfulness of the troop and excited to dig into their cookies!
We are #SBISDProud of this troop and the donors for demonstrating Collective Greatness and a strong Moral Compass, two of the SBISD Core Values.
