District Leader Selected for 2024-2025 SMU Fellows Program

Dr. Bryan Williams, Community Superintendent for Secondary Schools in Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD), has been selected to join the 2024-2025 District Leadership Fellows program at the SMU Institute for Leadership Impact at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.

The program provides a hybrid approach to leadership training, combining both in-person and online learning for school district leaders. This year’s cohort features leaders from districts across Texas and Arkansas, representing a diverse range of student populations, from 160 to 67,000 students.

Dr. Williams will engage in the year-long program designed to enhance leadership skills and tackle complex challenges within school districts.

“I view this opportunity as a crucial investment in my role and my capacity to support and develop leadership within SBISD,” Dr. Williams said. “The skills and insights gained through this program will enhance my effectiveness in mentoring our secondary principals and fortifying our district’s leadership pipeline.”

The program emphasizes strengths-based leadership, problem-solving, and network-building, aiming to improve the overall effectiveness of district leaders.
