Award-winning Spring Woods High School chemistry teacher Jamie Flint and one of her students, senior Pedro Zavala, are currently on a Jason Learning Argonaut Program trip to study arthropods in the Amazon rainforest in Peru. Some common invertebrates included in the arthropod phylum include insects and spiders.

Sponsored by Chevron, this Spring Branch ISD duo will be in Peru from October 19-26 to conduct research about the biodiversity of the rainforest at the Amazon Conservatory for Tropical Studies.

Stay tuned here for more exciting details from Flint and Zavala once they return from their scientific adventure.
