Homecoming Time!
SBISD’s high school homecoming season began last week with the Black and Gold Day colors of Spring Woods High School. Go, Tigers!
The homecoming season will run through Oct. 19 this year when Memorial High’s students and alumni will show off their enduring Mustang spirit.
High School Homecomings are:
- Spring Woods High – Friday, Sept. 7
- Stratford High – Friday, Sept. 14
- Northbrook High – Friday, Oct. 5
- Memorial High – Friday, Oct. 19
Our campuses appreciate your support during football season and at other special campus events like Homecoming. Many employees this year will wear spirit shirts, as well as school colors, on game days this fall.
The high energy created by high school football players, cheerleaders, drill teams, bands and student spectators impacts many, and reflects the district’s Every Child ambition and core value.
Tiger Spirit is the theme this week at Spring Woods, says Principal Jennifer Collier. It kicked off with Black and Gold Day, with students wearing school colors, home tennis match, face painting and upbeat celebration music.
On Wednesday, students celebrated Jersey Day by wearing fave team jerseys and joining a neighborhood parade, Tiger Fest, which included good food, club booths and other activities, and the annual Powderpuff game with Senior vs. Junior Girls and male student cheerleaders. Homecoming King crowning closed out the day.

Spring Woods students wore their middle and elementary feeder school shirts to mark Throwback Thursday. A radio station DJ made lunch time lively.
On Friday, Spring Woods High will be pumped up for two big games – varsity level volleyball against Northbrook at 4:30 p.m. followed by their varsity football game against Clements High in the evening. Homecoming dance is in the Tiger Gym the next evening.
“There’s so much to celebrate and we are so lucky to be a Tiger at Tiger Country,” Principal Collier said.
Whatever week you celebrate, have a great time out there – and post, share and send us your best event photos. See you at Homecoming!
