Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) is proud to announce Kristina King, an 8th grade science teacher at Memorial Middle School (MMS), as the April 2025 recipient of the Teachers Driving Success Award.
Sponsored by Advantage BMW Midtown, the award recognizes educators who go above and beyond to inspire student achievement and create meaningful, engaging learning experiences for every child.
King was surprised with a $300 gift card and a gift basket during a recent morning celebration, honoring her contributions to both her campus and the district. She was nominated for her exceptional leadership, innovative spirit, and dedication to student success.
“Kristi King’s impact extends well beyond her classroom,” said MMS Principal Ellen Green. “She partnered with our district Science Department to help write the new 8th grade science curriculum and has taken on all of our advanced academic classes—averaging 42 students per period. She even gave up her planning period to make it happen. Thanks to her work, our interim assessment and PSTAAR scores have exceeded all expectations with the new curriculum.”
King’s commitment doesn’t stop there. She secured a grant from the Spring Branch Education Foundation (SBEF) and engaged families through an Amazon Wish List to provide cutting-edge science tools for her students. In addition, she collaborated with her colleagues to develop the bell schedule currently used across all SBISD middle schools.
The SBISD Community Engagement team extends its sincere gratitude to Advantage BMW Midtown for their continued support of the Teachers Driving Success program.
We are honored to recognize Kristina King and are #SBISDProud of the difference she makes in the lives of students every single day.
