Congratulations to Maria Amaya, Bilingual PK4 teacher at The Lion Lane School (LLS), named our February Teachers Driving Success winner.

With support from Group 1 and GMC Southwest, this award honors educators who go above and beyond to help students succeed, build strong relationships, and create welcoming classrooms where Every Child can thrive.

Amaya was surprised at a campus celebration, where she received a gift basket and was recognized for creating an innovative and nurturing environment for Lion Lane’s youngest learners.

“Ms. Amaya demonstrates innovative, effective, and creative teaching methods that help students of all backgrounds and abilities achieve academic success,” Director Michele Gabriel shared. “She also inspires a love of learning, and she is a positive influence on student growth.”

In her classroom, Amaya combines high expectations with warmth and encouragement. She helps young learners build confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation for future learning. Her work shows her deep belief in her students’ potential and the value of early childhood education.
