Meet Allison Kohtz

Allison Kohtz will take the helm as principal of Rummel Creek Elementary (RCE) for the 2025–2026 school year, bringing 18 years of experience in education and a strong focus on relationships and instructional excellence.

A proud member of Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) for the past 14 years, Kohtz describes her leadership style in one word: Relational. She believes that investing in people is the foundation of a thriving school community.

“Building strong relationships makes the hard work of teaching and learning not just more effective—but also more fun,” Kohtz shared.

As she steps into this new role, Kohtz is especially excited to learn more about early literacy and numeracy instruction and to support the dedicated RCE staff in nurturing young learners.

“I know firsthand what a special place RCE is,” she said. “This is a school known for academic excellence, cherished traditions, and a vibrant community. I’m honored to lead alongside such an exceptional team.”

Those who know Kohtz describe her as thoughtful, approachable, and student-centered. She brings with her not just leadership experience, but also a strong appreciation for the culture and values that make RCE unique.

Her guiding words? A quote she credits to Ted Lasso via Walt Whitman: “Be curious, not judgmental.”
