Meet Asna Masood

Asna Masood begins the 2025–2026 school year as Principal of Housman Elementary (HSE), bringing with her 18 years of educational experience—three of them within SBISD.

A dedicated educator and leader, Mrs. Masood is deeply committed to championing her school community.

When asked to define her leadership philosophy in one word, she chose empowerment.

“I believe the most effective leadership creates conditions where students, teachers, and staff feel confident, capable, and trusted to grow, lead, and innovate,” she says. “When people feel empowered, they take ownership of their roles, push boundaries, and work collaboratively toward shared goals. Empowerment builds a culture of trust, continuous learning, and collective success.”

Looking ahead, Mrs. Masood is excited to work alongside her team to nurture leadership at every level and foster a culture of growth for students, staff, and the entire school community. Her goal is to build a safe, inclusive, and inspiring environment where everyone feels seen, supported, and encouraged to thrive.

“I want our community to know I’m here to serve and support them. My door is always open. I care deeply about the well-being and success of every person on campus, and I’m committed to growing together.”

As she leads Housman Elementary forward, she remains grounded in SBISD’s Core Value of Every ChildEvery child. Every day. Every minute. Every way.

Words of Wisdom:
“Lead with heart, listen with purpose, and never underestimate the power of small acts of kindness.”

Just for Fun:
When she’s not on campus, Mrs. Masood enjoys traveling, exploring new places, and playing soccer with her family.
