Meet Carl Blaze

 

This school year, SBISD welcomes Carl Blaze as the new Principal of the District Alternative Education Program (DAEP).

With 26 years in education—split evenly between middle and high school—Mr. Blaze brings deep expertise, a strong sense of purpose, and a heart for service to the DAEP community. An SBISD veteran of 18 years and proud graduate of Spring Woods High School, Mr. Blaze is deeply rooted in the district.

He describes his leadership style as collaborative, grounded in the belief that strong relationships and shared leadership form the foundation of a thriving school culture.

“When we work together, we can ensure that every student receives what they need to succeed,” he says.

Looking ahead, Mr. Blaze is committed to fostering a learning environment where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered—fully aligned with SBISD’s Core Value of Every ChildEvery child. Every day. Every minute. Every way.

Beyond school, Mr. Blaze remains engaged in youth development as a sports official—refereeing football, basketball, volleyball, and lacrosse. A former coach, he believes athletics builds lifelong leadership skills.
