This year, Patricia “Trish” Thomas begins her role as Interim Principal at Sherwood Elementary, bringing 37 years of educational experience—27 of them in SBISD. She is known for her clarity, care, and deeply relational leadership.

“You have to build trust first,” she says. “When people know you care and communicate clearly, they’ll walk with you through the hard work.”

Ms. Thomas is committed to working side by side with staff and families to meet high expectations in academics, behavior, and character development. Her leadership centers on daily, intentional investment in student success—aligned with SBISD’s Core Value of Every Child: Every child. Every day. Every minute. Every way.

Outside of school, she draws energy and perspective from her six grandchildren, who remind her of the joy in lifelong learning.
