The Memorial and Stratford High School Classes of 2023 have achieved the prestigious AP® School Honors recognition.
This honors program, launched in October 2023, recognizes schools that successfully deliver Advanced Placement® (AP) programs to students while simultaneously expanding access to these courses.
The recognition is granted based on a set of criteria that demonstrate a commitment to creating a college-going culture, providing college credit opportunities, and maximizing college readiness.
The AP® School Honor Roll offers four levels of recognition: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. To achieve this honor, schools must meet or exceed the criteria for each recognition level in all three metrics.
The qualifying criteria include a minimum of 40% of the graduation cohort taking at least one AP® Exam during high school, 25% or more of the graduation cohort scoring a 3 or higher on at least one AP® Exam during high school, and 2% or more of the graduation cohort taking five or more AP® Exams during high school, with at least one of those exams being taken in 9th or 10th grade.
Memorial and Stratford have exceeded these requirements for the 2022-2023 school year, and have earned their respective spots on the AP® School Honor Roll.
Memorial High School was recognized with a Gold School Award, while Stratford High School received a Silver School Award. This recognition program is exclusive to full-time grade-12 enrollments and schools located within the United States or Canada.
The achievement is a testament to the hard work of our students and teachers. Congratulations!
