Spring Branch ISD Featured News

 

 

The 2023 Regional Scholastic Art and Writing Award recipients were recently announced and more than 100 SBISD students were recognized. Sponsored by the Harris County Department of Education (HCDE), the annual competition celebrates creative students across the country. 

This year, SBISD students received 34 Gold Key awards, 42 Silver Key awards, and 72 Honorable Mentions, for a total of 148 awards. 

Several students received multiple awards in one or more separate categories. The Silver Key and Gold Key award recipients will be recognized in a regional ceremony later this spring.  

“The Scholastic Art and Writing competition is the oldest and most prestigious contest in this country,” said Sally Doyle, SBISD Visual Arts coordinator. “I am so proud of the student recipients and teachers for receiving this award, whether honorable mention, silver or gold key. It is an amazing accomplishment and opportunity even at the local events.” 

HCDE serves each year as the regional sponsor for the prestigious program, with judges viewing and evaluating thousands of student submissions from across Harris County.
