Mustang Girls Golf Team Finishes Fifth at UIL State Championship
The Memorial High School (MHS) girls golf team, representing Spring Branch ISD (SBISD), secured a fifth-place finish at the UIL Class 6A State Championship — one of the team’s strongest performances in recent years.
Led by head coach Edward (Paul) Colquitt, the Mustangs posted a two-day score of 629, with rounds of 312 and 317. Memorial finished just nine strokes out of third place, while the state champion, Coppell High School, posted a score of 607.
Team members included seniors Grace Wu and Arwen Settipalli, Lynette Li, Sydney Marrs, and Claire Cagle. Wu and Settipalli will continue their golf careers at the collegiate level — Wu at Texas Wesleyan and Settipalli at the University of the Incarnate Word.
