New Board of Trustees officers elected, new members sworn in

 

Spring Branch ISD Trustees met Tuesday evening to canvass results from the Saturday, May 2, 2026, election and to elect Board officers for the coming year.

A canvass verifies that votes were correctly counted during the election.

Incumbent Courtney Anderson was sworn in for a second three-year term in Position 1. Ted Tredennick was sworn in as a new trustee in Position 2. Trustee Tredennick also will serve a three-year term. 

Anderson defeated J Steven Smelley with 3,295 votes to Smelley’s 1,132 votes. Tredennick received 2,699 votes, defeating Sally Cone who received 1,031 votes and Jeri Spence who earned 1,022 votes. 

Trustees were joined at the swearing-in ceremony by family, friends and supporters.

The Board of Trustees also elects new officers annually after new members are sworn in.

Newly elected Board officers are Trustee Courtney Anderson, elected as Board President, replacing outgoing Trustee and Board President Shannon Mahan; Trustee David Slattery , who replaces Caroline H. Bennett as Vice-President; and Trustee Ted Tredennick, who replaces Walker Agnew as Secretary.
