Parent U: 504/Special Education Accommodations in College

Spring Branch ISD is hosting Parent U: 504/Special Education Accommodations in College for 11th and 12th-grade families on Thursday, April 20 at 6 p.m. via Zoom. The virtual event will educate families on how to take advantage of the resources available to strengthen academic success.

All colleges and universities are required by law to offer special education accommodations for students with disabilities, such as extended time on exams, use of laptops for tests and special permission to record classes, among others.

SBISD’s Family E3 team will host this Parent U in collaboration with the SBISD Guidance and Counseling department. During the session, higher education representatives will explain the difference between getting accommodations in high school versus college and will be available to answer questions.
