Spring Branch ISD is hosting Parent U: Dyslexia Updates: What Families Need to Know on Thursday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. via Zoom.
The Texas Education Agency Dyslexia Handbook has been updated. This session will help families understand the steps to take if they have a child with dyslexia, suspect their child may have dyslexia or have a student in a grade where dyslexia screening happens for all students.
Additionally, families will:
- Learn more about dyslexia, its characteristics and risk factors
- Understand universal screening and data review for reading risk
- Understand the evaluation and identification process and provision of services for students with dyslexia
- Explore critical, evidence-based components of dyslexia instruction
For more information, visit the Parent U site or contact the Family E3 team at FamilyE3@springbranchisd.com.
SBISD employees can register for the session on Kickup.
