Literacy is a top priority in Spring Branch ISD. It is essential that all students be reading on or above grade level by 3rd grade in order to achieve the T-2-4 Goal of Every Child attaining a technical certification, military training or two-year or four-year degree.

Parents and families are their children’s first teachers and, therefore, are important partners in educating Every Child we serve.

The ReadSBISD Parent Guide has been produced to empower families of young learners with at-home strategies to supplement the literacy skills taught in classrooms.

The Guide is available online in English and Spanish. Printed versions of the guide are being distributed to families of students in grades PreK-2. The Guide includes information about SBISD’s balanced literacy approach, the Units of Study curriculum, and powerful literacy-at-home tips for parents and families.
