SBISD Announces 2025 Teacher of the Year Finalists

 

We are #SBISDProud to announce the six exceptional educators who have been selected as SBISD Teacher of the Year finalists.

These finalists were selected by the Teacher of the Year Committee after a thorough review of applications submitted by campus Teacher of the Year winners.

Elementary Finalists:

  • Cassandra Hail, Bunker Hill Elementary School 

  • Anita Joshi, Nottingham Elementary School 

  • Stephanie Walton, Wilchester Elementary School 

Secondary Finalists:

  • Jason Campbell, Northbrook High School 

  • Chenique Whitney, Spring Branch Middle School 

  • Joshua Ault, Spring Woods High School 

1,138 SBISD Educators Nominated

This year, campus staff, students, parents, and community members showed their appreciation by submitting 3,354 heartfelt nominations as part of our campus Teacher of the Year recognition. In total, 1,138 individual SBISD educators were nominated, reflecting the profound impact our teachers have across the district and community.

As the next step, the six finalists will participate in interviews with the committee to determine the SBISD 2024-25 Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year. Good luck to all our finalists and thank you to our campus Teachers of the Year for all they do for Every Child. Congratulations!

The winners of SBISD's 2025 Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year will advance to the Region 4 Teacher of the Year competition. From there, regional winners will move on to the Texas Association of School Administrators state competition, where they will be considered for the prestigious Texas Teacher of the Year award.
