Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) is proud to announce Maria Garza, kindergarten bilingual teacher at Housman Elementary, as the October 2025 recipient of the Teachers Driving Success Award.
Sponsored by Group 1 Automotive and GMC Southwest, this monthly recognition honors educators who go above and beyond to support student success and cultivate engaging classrooms where every child thrives.
Garza was surprised with a gift basket during a morning celebration on campus, honoring her dedication to her students and school community. Her principal shared the following words:
“Ms. Garza’s dedication, creativity and unwavering commitment make her a true driver of success in her kindergarten classroom. She inspires a love of learning, builds confidence in every child and creates a nurturing environment where students thrive academically and socially.”
As a bilingual educator, Garza plays a vital role in ensuring every student feels seen, supported and empowered to succeed. Her work reflects the heart of Housman Elementary and the mission of SBISD to educate and inspire Every Child.
