SBISD Communications wins nine state-level awards
TSPRA Star Awards

Spring Branch ISD Communications and Community Engagement won nine separate awards during the recent annual meeting of the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA).

The awards recognize excellence in the communications field during the 2019-2020 school year.

The awards won by SBISD included five Gold Stars and two Silver Stars, as well as two prestigious Best of Category awards in areas of competition involving print, electronic and visual media. The Best of Category award goes to the top Gold Star entry in each competition category.

TSPRA awards were announced on Feb. 23 with additional top winners announced during the association’s Star Awards conference banquet. This year’s conference was held Feb. 22-25 in Denton, Texas.

All submissions are evaluated by outside judges. Winners are determined by using TSPRA-established criteria. School districts in Texas compete in three categories based on total student population. SBISD competes in the More Than 30,000 Students division, which includes the largest urban school districts in the state.
