In his own words . . .

“I love the challenge of teaching. Whether in the classroom teaching science as I did for a number of years, or in the gym teaching Athletics, teachers are in the unique position to make a difference in kids’ lives on a daily basis. In sports, the variety of life lessons we are able to teach our athletes is amazing and what inspires me every day.”

“Spring Forest is a special place and I am blessed to be a part of this amazing school. I remember my middle school coaches being incredibly influential when I came through Spring Forest Middle myself, and many of the lessons they taught me I still carry to this day. I’m also thankful to have worked alongside one of my former coaches before he retired! To see, as an adult, how and why he so positively impacted me as a middle schooler was transformative.”

In the words of others . . .

“I think his coaches sum it up best: Integrity and empathy are the two words that describe Ryan Harvey. If it is not the right thing, and it does not serve all parties involved, we aren’t going to do it. Ryan cares for everyone!”

Tracey Reap, Spring Forest Middle Assistant Principal

“As remarkable as Coach Harvey is as a teacher, he is even more astonishing as a person. He is a father, a husband, a coach, a friend, and yet he still finds time to serve his community and congregation at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church.”

Raymorris Barnes, Spring Forest Middle Principal
