Students SHINE as Summer Reading Rockstars

This summer, students across Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) enthusiastically participated in the annual Reading Rockstars challenge, aiming to log at least 1,000 minutes of reading during their break. Participants were encouraged to explore various formats, including physical books, e-books, and audiobooks, fostering a diverse reading experience.

During the September regular meeting of the SBISD Board of Trustees, the top fifteen Summer Reading Rockstars were recognized for their impressive commitment based on total minutes read.

The Reading Rockstars Challenge was designed to cultivate a love for literature while helping students maintain and enhance their reading skills. By dedicating time to reading over the summer, student participants return to school ready for success.

“Engaging with books over the summer can help keep brains sharp and further supports our district’s vision to promote literacy for EVERY CHILD," said Annie Wolfe, Associate Superintendent of Academics. "I’m excited to celebrate this year’s Rockstar Readers!”
