The Spring Branch ISD Community Engagement team has announced Karen Rivas Diaz, a second-grade teacher at Sherwood Elementary, as the December Teachers Driving Success winner.
“I am so grateful to be recognized for my work, it was truly a surprise,” said Ms. Rivas Diaz. “I am very happy to be part of the SBISD team!”
In recognition of her dedication and drive for success, Rivas Diaz received a $300 gift card and a gift basket from Sterling McCall Toyota, this month’s program sponsor.
“Ms. Rivas Diaz consistently holds high expectations for all her students. She challenges them and encourages them to persevere, as she truly believes they can do anything they set their minds to,” said Sarah Salas, Sherwood principal. “Ms. Rivas Diaz is always professional, positive and a solution-based thinker.”
Teachers Driving Success is a monthly teacher appreciation program sponsored by SBISD Good Neighbor and partner Sterling McCall Group, which recognizes classroom teachers and their efforts to help students prosper.
Each month, principals are invited to nominate one classroom teacher from their campus for the way in which they are driving success. The Community Engagement team conducts a monthly lottery drawing from nominations received to choose the Teachers Driving Success award winner.
We thank Sterling McCall Group for their sustained support of our educators! Learn more about the Teachers Driving Success program.
