The Saturday Night Fever Virtual Gala takes place on Feb. 20, 2021.

Spring Branch Education Foundation (SBEF) invites supporters to celebrate its Saturday Night Fever Virtual Gala on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021, in the comfort of their homes. Co-chairs Brianna and David Cisarik and Linda and Tom DeBesse are hosting the Foundation’s first virtual event.

On Feb. 20, before settling in for the virtual portion of the event, guests will visit Ciro’s Italian Grill, 9755 Katy Freeway, for a drive-through pickup of a delicious three-course dinner, 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A live auction with virtual bidding, will begin at 8 p.m. and include exciting items such as a family golf cart and an amazing, destination vacation. Bidding information will be provided to ticket holders.

An online silent auction featuring themed baskets donated by SBISD PTAs opens on Monday, Feb. 15, and runs through Friday, Feb. 26, 2021. A link to view the silent auction items will be available via the SBEF website and social media feeds in February.

“We’re grateful to our sponsors who have already committed their support to the gala and welcome others,” said Brianna Cisarik, co-chair. “We are excited for our guests to take a little bit of disco home!”

“While we’re disappointed we can’t gather in person, we’re excited to provide our generous supporters a fun, virtual way to raise funds for SBISD students and teachers,” said Co-chair Linda Dang. “Instead of cancelling or postponing the gala, our team found a creative way to make the Saturday Night Fever Gala happen while being mindful of social distancing recommendations from local government and health officials.”

SBEF partners with Spring Branch ISD to fund programs that enrich education. From corporate and community donations, SBEF awards scholarships to seniors who are continuing their education and funds grants for mentoring programs, classroom libraries, technology and other programs.

“The funds raised at the annual gala are a large factor in determining the number of grants and scholarships we award each year,” said Cece Thompson, SBEF executive director. “Our virtual gala will allow the community to continue to support SBEF and the students and teachers who depend on us.”
