Spring Branch Education Foundation recognized for transformative support

At its recent meeting, the Spring Branch ISD Board of Trustees recognized the Spring Branch Education Foundation (SBEF) for its extraordinary contributions to the district. Trustee David Slattery introduced the recognition, and Linda Buchman, Associate Superintendent of Communications and Community Engagement, shared remarks highlighting the Foundation’s impact.

For the tenth consecutive year, the Foundation has gifted more than $1 million to Spring Branch ISD (SBISD), a milestone that underscores its sustained commitment to student success. Board Chair Evan Perroni and SBEF Executive Director Cece Thompson presented a symbolic check to trustees, representing the Foundation’s total contribution over the past year, an impressive $3.9 million.

Buchman commended the SBEF board of directors, event chairs, sponsors, and thousands of community participants who make the Foundation’s work possible. Through partnerships, sponsorships, grants, and scholarships, SBEF channels millions of dollars in critical resources to students, staff, and schools.

“Each year, we are dazzled not only by the size of the check, but by the depth of impact SBEF has on our district,” said Buchman. “From simplifying PTA fundraising, to managing campus grants, to awarding scholarships that open doors to higher education, the Foundation is an essential partner in ensuring our students have every opportunity to thrive.”

This support is also central to SBISD’s vision of T-2-4 for Every Child, which ensures that every student is prepared to successfully pursue a technical certificate, military training, or a two- or four-year degree after graduation. By investing in scholarships, innovative programs, and classroom initiatives, SBEF helps turn this vision into reality for thousands of SBISD students each year.

Recent examples of SBEF’s impact include funding for innovative classroom programs, like a new science initiative launching next semester, which was made possible through a Foundation partnership.

As Superintendent and trustees noted, this year’s contribution marks the largest check presentation in district history. “We’ve been in the twos before, but never this close to $4 million,” said Buchman. “This gift reflects the generosity and commitment of our community to the success of every SBISD student.”

SBISD extends its deepest gratitude to SBEF for its continued leadership and support in helping Every Child reach their T-2-4 goal.
