Spring Branch Education Foundation volunteer receives national award

Dominique Harvey, Spring Branch Education Foundation Board member and Spring Branch ISD volunteer, has received The President’s Lifetime Achievement Award for her extraordinary service to the community. On his last day in office, Harvey received a letter and proclamation signed by President Donald Trump.

The letter reads in part, “On behalf of a grateful Nation, I thank you for your lifetime of service to your fellow Americans and those most in need. Through at least 4,000 hours of service, you have ensured the continuation of America’s unparalleled commitment to improving the lives of others.”

Harvey, who has two children in SBISD schools, volunteers in a variety of capacities in the district. As an SBEF Board member, she serves on the marketing committee, handling all social media and representing the Foundation in the community.

Much of Harvey’s focus is on Parent Teacher Association (PTA) activities. She has served two terms as PTA president of Westchester Academy for International Studies, one term as SBISD Council of PTAs vice president and will assume the role of president in the 2021-22 term. On the state level, she has participated on the Advocacy Committee, Standing Rules Team, and Organization Restructure and Dissolution Team.

An advocate for gifted children, she is a parent liaison for supporting the emotional needs of the gifted.

Harvey founded and operates CreativePressDesigns.com, a branding, web development and graphic design firm.
