Spring Branch Education Foundation's School Supply Drive Makes a Big Impact

Thanks to the generous contributions from the Spring Branch community, the Spring Branch Education Foundation (SBEF) has raised over $100,000 through its annual Project School Supplies drive.

This incredible effort directly supports SBISD students and aligns with the district’s vision of ensuring Every Child is prepared for T-2-4 success.

This year’s drive saw substantial support from prominent donors and partners. Baker Hughes contributed not only a significant monetary donation but also 100 backpacks filled with essential school supplies to Terrace Elementary School. Additionally, Representative Penny Shaw, in collaboration with Greater Houston LULAC #4967, provided 400 backpacks to Edgewood Elementary School.

The SBEF extends heartfelt gratitude to the donors who have made this initiative possible, including:

  • Baker Hughes
  • Fluor Cares
  • First Community Credit Union
  • Harris County Department of Education
  • Lacey Hull, Texas State Representative
  • LULAC of Greater Houston #4967
  • Penny Morales Shaw, Texas State Representative

SBEF’s work is far from over. In SBISD, 59% of students are economically disadvantaged. For these families, essential school supplies often take a back seat when making tough financial decisions.

To ensure all students have the tools they need for academic success, SBEF School Supplies Chair Laura Horn and the SBEF board are committed to ongoing fundraising efforts. Every donation makes a difference: $15 can supply a student with essential items, $330 covers supplies for an entire classroom, and $1,650 supports a whole grade level.
