Jan. 7, 2022 – The Spring Branch ISD Board of Trustees will discuss Monday a potential May bond election to fund school construction and renovation, equipment, and technology.
The board will hold a workshop meeting beginning at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10, at the district’s headquarters, 955 Campbell Road in Houston.
Board members will not vote Monday on whether to call a bond election but will have discussions about the potential for a bond program to fund Career and Technical Education facility improvements along with other potential district needs.
The board also is scheduled to discuss the status of federal COVID-19 relief funding, known as ESSER, which is designed to help school districts accelerate learning for students in the wake of learning loss during the pandemic. Spring Branch ISD has budgeted 67 percent of its ESSER funding directly to help students recover from COVID learning loss, one of the highest percentages of any school district in the Houston area.
In addition, the SBISD board will discuss the district’s strategic framework and board-superintendent operating procedures.
