Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) celebrates 11 Distinguished Scholars

 

Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) is celebrating 11 students named Distinguished Scholars by CITGO and ABC 13 this school year.

The Distinguished Scholars Program offers scholarships to students pursuing higher education and recognizes exceptional individuals in categories, such as Beating the Odds, Career & Technical Education, Communications, Performing & Fine Arts, STEM, Service & Leadership, Spirit and Student Athletics.

SBISD students honored are

  • Communications:
    • Helen Rieke, Memorial High School
    • Lily Nipper, Spring Woods High School
    • Caroline Perez, Stratford High School
  • Service & Leadership:
    • Kate Wang, Memorial High School
    • Saloni Singh, Westchester Academy for International Studies (WAIS)
  • STEM:
    • Sebastian Elias, Northbrook High School
  • Career & Technical Education:
    • Aylin Castaneda, Spring Woods High School
    • Victoria Green, Spring Woods High School
  • Spirit:
    • Georgia Ashley, Stratford High School
  • Student Athletics:
    • Nathan Moss, Stratford High School
    • William Gordon, Westchester Academy for International Studies (WAIS)

The students were surprised by CITGO representatives and a camera crew during recent events celebrating their achievements.

Dr. Annie Wolfe, associate superintendent for academics, said, “We are thrilled to see our students recognized for their outstanding achievements. Their dedication reflects the Core Characteristics of a T-2-4 Ready Graduate that our educators strive to instill in all students. This award highlights their readiness for continued educational success.”

Dr. Jennifer Blaine, superintendent of schools, said, “We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful to the dedicated educators who provide exceptional instruction. Their efforts make a significant impact on the lives of our students and their families. Congratulations to all our Distinguished Scholars!”
