This week, October 18-22, Spring Branch ISD schools will celebrate National School Lunch Week. The National School Lunch Program serves nearly 30 million children nationwide each day, and research shows that children get their healthiest meals at school.
National School Lunch Week highlights the nutritious foods available daily at our schools. This week, a specialty featured item every day will allow students to try different things that they don’t typically see on the menu.
Monday: Oven Baked Whole Grain Onion Rings
Tuesday: BBQ Pork Potato
Wednesday: Chicken Alfredo Pasta
Thursday: Sweet and Sour Asian Chicken
Friday: Pizza Bagel Bites
This week, and every week, SBISD’s Child Nutrition Services staff strives to create meals that are nutritious and tasty for our students. These meals are low in fat and sodium, all grains are 100% whole grain, and always offer a variety of fruits and vegetables to allow students to receive a well-balanced meal at breakfast and lunch.
