New for 2025-26: CrisisAlert® Safety System

With the safety and security of our students and staff as our highest priority, SBISD is implementing a new emergency notification system: CrisisAlert® from CENTEGIX®.

This tool enables all SBISD staff to immediately alert responders in the event of an emergency.

Real-Time Response Capabilities

One key feature of the system is the Campus-Wide Alert, which is activated when there is a significant threat on campus. When triggered, the system instantly notifies all individuals on campus to take immediate action to ensure their safety.

This alert uses both audio and visual signals:

  • Flashing and beeping strobe lights in classrooms and hallways

  • Color-coded indicators aligned with the Standard Response Protocols (Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, Shelter, or Hold)

  • desktop takeover alerting all staff on their computers

What Families Should Know

  • Campus-Wide Alerts will only be activated in response to a significant safety threat.

  • Students and staff will regularly practice emergency drills using the new system to ensure preparedness and familiarity.

  • If you are on campus during an alert, follow directions immediately to reach a safe location.

  • SBISD will continue its commitment to promptly notifying parents and guardians through our mass communication systems during any safety-related incident.

“The safety and well-being of our students and staff is always our highest priority,” said Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Blaine. “This partnership with CENTEGIX enhances our capabilities to quickly and effectively respond to emergencies.”
