Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) is gearing up for the start of the 2025–26 school year on Wednesday, Aug. 13. We look forward to welcoming students and families back following a productive summer of preparation by dedicated staff and educators.

Enhanced safety & security measures

With the safety and security of our students and staff as our highest priority, SBISD is implementing a new emergency notification system: CrisisAlert® from CENTEGIX®.

This tool enables all SBISD staff to immediately alert responders in the event of an emergency.

Parent U virtual learning series returns

SBISD’s Parent U series returns for the 2025–26 school year with a full calendar of free virtual family learning sessions covering topics such as academic planning, college readiness, student wellness, and more.

Hosted live via Zoom, all sessions are available for on-demand viewing through the Parent U website.

Updated meal prices & Family support

SBISD School Nutrition Services (SNS) has released updated meal prices effective this fall:

  • Elementary lunch: $3.00
  • Secondary lunch: $3.25

Families can apply to qualify for free or reduced-price meals on the SNS website. Beginning this fall, SNS will also launch a monthly video series with helpful tips and resources for families.

SBISD Income Survey now open

Beginning July 1, families are encouraged to complete the SBISD Income Survey, a quick and confidential tool that helps secure state and federal funding for schools—regardless of whether a child eats school meals.

Bond progress & Campus improvements

Thanks to funding from the 2017 and 2022 Bond Programs, SBISD made significant campus upgrades this summer, including:

Volunteer registration now open

SBISD volunteers play a vital role in student success. The 2025–26 volunteer application is now open. All 2024–25 applications expired on June 30, 2025. New and returning volunteers must apply and be approved before participating in school activities.

New year, New friends: SBISD's Police K-9 Reading Buddies & more

This year, SBISD elementary schools are rolling out the Caught You Reading initiative—when one of our SBISD Police officers spots your child reading on campus, they’ll hand them a special “reading ticket.” Students can then submit their ticket to win a one‑on‑one read‑along session with an officer and their police K‑9 partner!

Plus, don’t miss our pineapple mascot roaming the halls with the School Nutrition Service (SNS) team, sharing fun wellness tips and easy nutrition hacks. Keep an eye out for both of these exciting programs at your child’s school this year!
