SBISD sets the standard for excellence in arts education, celebrating an outstanding showing in the 2025 High School Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE).
During this year’s competition, 32,518 works of art were judged regionally, with only 2,357 advancing to the prestigious State VASE.
SBISD students showcased their exceptional talent, submitting 250 entries for HSVASE Region 4W. Of those, 173 received the highest rating of a 4, demonstrating artistic mastery and dedication. Fifteen of these outstanding works earned a coveted spot at the State VASE competition, set to take place at San Marcos High School on April 25, 2025.
As we celebrate these remarkable student artists, we also take this moment to express our gratitude to our dedicated art educators. Their unwavering commitment to fostering creativity and skill in the classroom has played a pivotal role in SBISD’s continued success. For four consecutive years, SBISD has been recognized as a District of Distinction for its exemplary arts education, a testament to the district’s dedication to nurturing artistic excellence.
This achievement coincides with Youth Art Month, an ideal time to acknowledge the importance of arts education in shaping young minds. We encourage our community to support and celebrate our student artists as they prepare to represent SBISD at the state level.
