Spring Branch ISD Staff Wins Six TSPRA Awards

Spring Branch ISD Communications and Community Relations team members earned six awards during the recently held annual meeting of the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA). The awards recognize excellence in communications during the 2017-18 school year, including a prestigious Crystal Certificate of Merit for comprehensive public relations work on the successful 2017 bond election.

The SBISD team’s awards also included four Gold Stars and a separate Silver Star in the annual program of competition involving print, electronic and visual media. The top awards were announced Feb. 20 at TSPRA’s annual Star Awards conference banquet. The state conference was held at the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort in Cedar Creek, Texas.

Submissions are evaluated by outside judges and winners determined by criteria set by TSPRA. School districts compete in three separate categories based on total student population. SBISD has competed regularly in the More Than 30,000 Students division, which includes the largest Texas school districts.

“These honors speak to the caliber of talent, creativity, dedication, collaborative spirit, hard work and heart that make our Community Relations and Communications teams so special,” said Linda Buchman, the district’s Community Relations Officer.

“Individually and collectively, our team of Extraordinary People produce extraordinary work. I am grateful to TSPRA for recognizing their efforts with these high-level awards. They represent #CollectiveGreatness at its best,” she also said.
