Katie Wood-Sponsel, an educator at Spring Branch Academic Institute (SBAI), has been honored as a STAR in the classroom by First Community Credit Union, showcasing the incredible power of partnership.
Wood-Sponsel joins a prestigious cohort of winning teachers awarded a personalized crystal award, a $250 Amazon Gift Card, a $500 donation made in their honor to the school district and a surprise visit to their school.
This recognition serves as yet another feather in Wood-Sponsel's cap, following her recognition as both campus and district Teacher of the Year in 2021. With over 18 years of dedication to Spring Branch ISD (SBISD), Wood-Sponsel has consistently provided exceptional educational experiences for her students. Specializing in 6th-8th grade social studies and language arts, she is renowned for creating a dynamic learning environment tailored to the needs of highly gifted students.
