Ridgecrest Elementary School (RGE) teachers were pleasantly surprised with 50 classroom kits filled with essential supplies.
Back-to-school season often brings the excitement of fresh notebooks, sharpened pencils, and brand-new folders. However, for teachers, it also means preparing their classrooms to ensure every student has the tools they need to succeed. To celebrate their 50th anniversary in Houston, Aramco Americas, in partnership with the Houston Health Foundation, commemorated the occasion by surprising teachers at RCE with 50 classroom kits, alleviating one significant item from their back-to-school to-do lists.
These kits, containing items such as notebooks, markers, scissors, and glue sticks, help bridge the gap and ensure students have the necessary materials for a successful school year.
Robin Mansur, CEO of the Houston Health Foundation, and Brittney Montgomery from Aramco Americas were among the distinguished guests at the event. Also present were Judy Sultan, Head of Corporate Citizenship at Aramco Americas, and several members of Mansur’s team. Trustee Courtney Anderson and Krista Walker from Representative Lacey Hull’s office were in attendance, along with other notable individuals.
Teachers arrived to find themselves pleasantly surprised by unexpected gifts, and both Mansur and Montgomery took the opportunity to express their deep gratitude for educators, emphasizing the crucial role they play in shaping students’ lives.
Principal of RGE, Michelle Garcia, expressed her appreciation for the two groups on behalf of RGE and her team of educators. “I am just so thankful and feel very blessed for our school that we were chosen for this because our school deserves it, just like any other school in this community and all over the world, because educators are superheroes,” Garcia said.
This support not only lightens the load for teachers but also demonstrates a community-wide commitment to student success. We are beyond grateful and #SBISDProud to have our teachers at RGE selected as recipients of the Aramco Americas and Houston Health Foundation's generosity.
