What do you believe are the most important aspects of leadership? The most important aspects of my leadership will be continuous reflection, growth and adaptability. I focus on remaining connected with educational research and best practices to provide the best possible experiences for the students, teachers, families and community of Bunker Hill Elementary

How do you ensure your team works collaboratively and maintains motivation? Fostering collaboration and maintaining motivation is an ongoing process. As the new principal at Bunker Hill Elementary, I will continually assess the needs of our team and be responsive in supporting our growth as a school team.

Leading by example with a commitment to building positive relationships, demonstrating a strong work ethic and establishing a positive and enthusiastic school experience for all are the key areas for my leadership focus. With a supportive and collaborative environment, our Bunker Hill Elementary team can carry forward a successful learning environment for all community members.

Why have you invested your talent and experience in Spring Branch ISD? Moving to Houston to be closer to family required researching the various school districts in the area. Immediately, in learning about Spring Branch ISD, I felt a connection to my prior experiences spanning over three decades in education.

I have been fortunate in my career to be a part of progressive, student-centered school systems and Spring Branch aligns with my beliefs in education. I’m thrilled to make Houston my new home!

What do you believe are the most important aspects of leadership? Leading by example is the most important part of leadership! When I set out the vision and goals, I am responsible for living them out daily with the stakeholders.

I become intentional about creating a team atmosphere where the members are valued, appreciated and held to a standard of moral and ethical conduct, which in turn becomes a model that children observe and eventually adopt.

How do you ensure your team works collaboratively and maintains motivation? Clear direction, structure, goal setting and celebrating wins on this journey, create an environment of collaborative and motivated teamwork.

What do you believe are the most important aspects of leadership? I believe it’s critical to lead by example. Ask nothing of others that you would not do yourself.

How do you ensure your team works collaboratively and maintains motivation? Communicate, follow through and above all…love those you serve with!

Why have you invested your talent and experience in Spring Branch ISD? I chose SBISD because of the people. They are a family that works together to help all students succeed. I also live in this community and want to give back.

What is your vision for the 2023-24 school year? Spring Woods High School will continue the tradition of helping all students and staff be successful. What does that mean for our students? That means attending school five days a week and working hard to make A’s and B’s instead of C’s and D’s!
