Stratford High School's (SHS) Symphony Orchestra, under the expert direction of Artan Zhuri, has been honored as a National Winner in the prestigious 2024 Mark of Excellence National Orchestra Honors Project.
This recognition highlights the high caliber of fine arts programming within the Spring Branch Independent School District (SBISD) and underscores the district’s commitment to excellence in arts education.
The Mark of Excellence project celebrates outstanding achievement in performance by high school and middle school bands, choirs, and orchestras across the United States. This year, the competition drew a remarkable 450 entries from 40 states. Only the top 25% of entrants were recognized as National Winners, making Stratford’s achievement even more noteworthy.
Rick Yancey, Managing Director of the project, commended the Stratford Symphony Orchestra, stating, “The performance of your ensemble represents the highest level of achievement.” This accolade not only affirms the orchestra's hard work and dedication but also reflects the rigorous standards and quality of music education at Stratford High School and throughout SBISD.
