Superintendent's message - July 2, 2020

(Spanish)

Dear SBISD Families and Staff,

The SBISD team has been hard at work developing robust plans for the safe and successful opening of school on August 17.

While we continue to await final guidance from the Texas Education Agency (TEA), we have not waited to deeply study, plan, and prepare for the year ahead, guided by our SBISD Commitments

I encourage you to view presentations and related discussions from our June Board of Trustees meetings at the links below to learn more about SBISD’s planning process. A July 20, 2020, Board of Trustees meeting has been scheduled, too.

Our guiding imperatives to prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of all, while ensuring an excellent academic experience for Every Child continue to inform our planning. As we continue to finalize our plans, we can share that we will provide in-person and remote learning models, both of which will offer the high-quality, robust instruction our families expect and our students deserve.

We look forward to sharing the specifics of our plans once we are certain our health and safety and instructional plans meet all TEA guidelines.

Until then, enjoy a safe and restful Fourth of July holiday.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Blaine, Ed.D.
