Recently, members of the Texas Association of Future Educators (TAFE) at Stratford and Spring Woods High Schools participated in the TAFE area conference hosted by the University of Houston Downtown.
TAFE is recognized as a distinguished Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), which empowers students with indispensable industry experience and essential networking opportunities, propelling them to future careers.
The conference was a resounding success, with a group of SBISD students qualifying for the state Teach Tomorrow Summit to be held Feb. 28 to March 1 in Round Rock, Texas.
The list of students attending the summit includes:
- Stratford High School: Kaitlyn Arzymanow, Sophia Bryant, Collin Chen, Kiera Cochran, Vincent McGuire, Miranda Gutierrez, Eliana Geva, Maddison Kyser, Angelica Salva, Hailey Wisdom, Melisa Yoruk and Sarah Yoo
- Spring Woods High School: Anabel Vega and Jheniffer Gomez
Students qualified in various fields of study such as Creative Lecture, Educational Leadership Fundamentals, Lesson Plan and Delivery STEM Varsity, Researching Learning Disabilities, Teacher Created Materials and others. We are #SBISDProud of their achievements and commitment to the education field.
Members of TAFE pledge to promote a positive attitude toward education, to acknowledge the challenging role of the teaching profession, and to provide service and leadership within their school and community.
Being part of TAFE comes with numerous benefits. It provides opportunities for networking with professionals in the field of education, building lifelong friendships, competing at the area, state, and national levels, earning scholarships and recognition items.
TAFE members also get the opportunity to attend the area conferences, the state Teach Tomorrow Summit and the national Educators Rising Conference and be part of a national organization of over 4,000 TAFE members across Texas.
The Hope for Tomorrow motto of TAFE reflects the dedication of these students to the noble aspects of education and inspires us all!
