Dear SBISD Families and Staff,

Can you believe that Spring Break is here? As a reminder, all district offices and schools will be closed from March 13 – 17. Classes will resume on Monday, March 20. 

Before we leave for this well-deserved break, I want to thank each of you for your continued dedication to our students and schools. 

No matter your role – parent, teacher, administrator, or support staff – our work together has improved student achievement. Your dedication and commitment to focusing on our kids and our district's priorities are recognized and appreciated. 

I am extremely proud of the positive results and excited to see our school district’s success story continue to unfold. We have countless reasons to celebrate and be #SBISDProud: 

• SBISD named an H-E-B Excellence in Education Large District Finalist

• Three SBISD educators selected as H-E-B Excellence in Education Award individual finalists

• 983 SBISD educators nominated for Campus Teachers of the Year, with 48 winners announced 

• Two outstanding educators named as Campus Principals of the Year

• Over 100 students recognized with 2023 Regional Scholastic Art and Writing Awards

• $330,000 raised by FFA Students as part of annual Show and Sale

• 48 students from across the district honored as Character without Question Winners for demonstrating the Core Characteristics of a T-2-4 Ready Graduate

• Two students named District Spelling Bee Winners

• Spring Woods High named by ESPN and Special Olympics as a Unified Champion School 

That’s not all! SBISD will honor staff as part of the 2023 Service Awards event, and I can't wait to join the Class of 2023 as we walk the stage with them as part of May’s graduation celebrations. 

I hope this time away allows you to reflect on everything we've accomplished together for Every Child. Be safe and enjoy time with your family and friends.
