Trustees Canvass Election, Elect New Officers

Spring Branch ISD Trustees met Monday evening to canvass results from the Saturday, May 4, election and to elect Board officers for the coming year. A canvass verifies that votes were correctly counted during the election.

Sworn-in were incumbents J. Carter Breed, re-elected to a second term in Position 5; Pam Goodson, re-elected to a fourth term in Position 6; and Karen Peck re-elected to a third term in Position 7.

Breed defeated challenger David E. Lopez with 989 votes to Lopez’s 476. Goodson and Peck were unopposed. Goodson received 1,144 votes, while Peck received 1,130.

Each of the seven Trustee positions is a three-year term. Terms are staggered between the seven Trustee positions.

New Board officers are Pam Goodson, who replaces Trustee Josef Klam as Board President; Trustee Chris Gonzalez, who replaces Goodson as Vice-President; and Trustee Minda Caesar, who replaces Gonzalez as Secretary.

The Board elects officers annually, after new members are sworn-in.
