Westwood Elementary is OVER THE MOON about partnership

In a heartwarming initiative that showcased the strength of community spirit, Westwood Elementary School recently collaborated with the nonprofit organization, Over the Moon, to spread holiday cheer among 20 deserving families.

This partnership facilitated a holiday shop where families could select from a wide range of goods, including clothing, shoes, jackets, and essential winter items, completely free of charge. The joint effort from Over the Moon and Westwood Elementary exemplifies the profound impact that community involvement and unity can have.

“The ability to find sponsors and businesses that can support our families in need is truly amazing. They left today with smiles on their faces,” said Westwood Elementary School Principal, Criselda Chavez.

This initiative isn't merely an uplifting holiday story. It signifies the transformative potential of community unity, exemplifying how local businesses and educational institutions can effect meaningful change and significantly enhance life quality for those most in need.

“We aim to fulfill the needs of our families, enabling children to concentrate on their studies. Working together, parents, teachers, and local businesses, helps foster strong bonds and ultimately success for our kids,” said Chavez. “Forming these relationships is crucial for nurturing a strong, supportive environment.”

Epitomizing the spirit of giving, this project demonstrates the true power of Collective Greatness. It sets a precedent for compassion, underscoring the importance of local schools as a bedrock of community wellbeing.

Thank you to Over the Moon and Westwood Elementary for cultivating community and providing holistic support for all students and their families, particularly the most vulnerable.
