Apptegy’s Live Feed allows districts to share updates across web, app, and social media simultaneously, while ROOMS provides a two-way, moderated communication tool for direct commenting, messaging, and parent-teacher interaction.

It features AI-moderated conversations, auto-translation for families, and group threads, all within the district-branded app. 

Key features of Apptegy's communication:

• Two-Way Interaction (ROOMS): Allows families to engage directly with teachers, share photos, and reply in threaded conversations within the app.
• Live Feed vs. ROOMS: The Live Feed is for public-facing updates (news, updates, school events) which are often read-only, whereas ROOMS is the dedicated space for moderated, interactive discussions.
• AI Moderation & Safety: All conversations are protected by AI to ensure safety, allowing administrators oversight of group chats, such as teams or clubs.
• Accessible Communication: Teachers can send messages and receive replies without sharing personal phone numbers, and messages can be auto-translated to the family's preferred language.
• Direct Interaction: Users can view district/school news, then easily switch to classroom streams and send messages to teachers via the app. 

Apptegy's Alerts allows SBISD to engage with families through multiple channels. The mass notification system allows the District to send a message through SMS, text-to-speech, voice calls, push notifications, email, and social media on one platform.

• This system will be  implemented for the start of the 2026-2027 school year.

Apptegy ROOMS is a secure, two-way communication platform integrated directly into a school district's official mobile app. It centralizes classroom-level messaging, announcements, and resource sharing, effectively replacing multiple standalone apps like Remind, ClassDojo, or GroupMe. 

For Parents and Guardians:

• Unified Access: You can access ROOMS through SBISD's district mobile app or via the web.
• Direct Messaging: Securely message teachers, coaches, and school staff without needing personal phone numbers.
• Classroom Updates: View a live "stream" of classroom announcements, upcoming assignments, and shared files like flyers or videos.
• Automatic Translation: Messages can be translated into hundreds of languages to ensure clear communication for all families.
• Notifications: Receive push notifications through the app or SMS alerts so you don't miss important updates. 

For Teachers and Staff:

• Setup: Teachers manage their classroom ROOMs through the Apptegy (Thrillshare) for Staff app.
• Roster Sync: ROOMS syncs directly with the district’s Student Information System (SIS), automatically populating student and guardian lists.
• Classroom Management Tools:
  • Behavior Tracking: An optional points-based system to reward students or track behavior trends.
  • Materials: A dedicated section to upload and organize links, documents, and reference materials.
  • Office Hours: Staff can set specific hours to control when they receive message notifications.
• Safety & Compliance: Features include proactive AI moderation that flags inappropriate content and complete message archiving for district records. 

How to Login for Families:

1. Download SBISD's official app [Spring Branch ISD TX] from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
2. Open the app and locate the "ROOMS" button, usually in the bottom right corner.
3. Sign in using the email address or phone number you provided during school registration.

Launch Playlist (All)

Current Training (April–August 2026): All onboarding and initial system training is being delivered in partnership with Apptegy Thrillshare platform.

This phase includes platform onboarding, role-based training, and system setup. All designated users are expected to complete training by Aug. 1, 2026.

What is the ROOMS behavior feature?

• Points system: Teachers can add or deduct points and reset totals as needed
• Reward and point tracking: Provides a running summary of student performance
• Notes and documentation: Teachers can log behavior notes visible to guardians
• Behavior tracking log: Maintains a history to identify patterns over time
• Toggle control: Feature is optional and can be turned on at the class level

• Alerts – Mass communication tool for texts, calls, and emails. Replaces SchoolMessenger.
• CMS – Website content and page management system. Replaces Finalsite/Composer.
• Rooms – Two-way messaging between teachers and families. Also serves as the district intranet for departments.
• Rooms Campus Management – Administrative tools to monitor and manage Rooms at the campus level.
• Engage – Newsletter creation and distribution. Replaces SchoolMessenger, Constant Contact, Skyward, Smore, and other third-party tools.
