Spring Branch ISD (SBISD) recently held a special afternoon reception to celebrate the Class of 2025 Retirees in the Board Room of the Wayne F. Shaper, Sr. Leadership Center.
The event brought together staff and district leaders to express gratitude for the years of service these colleagues have given to the SBISD community. The mood in the room was a mix of celebration, reflection and appreciation. Retirees were honored for their long-standing contributions—individuals who have helped shape classrooms, campuses and student experiences across the district.
The theme #SBISDProud echoed throughout the afternoon. It wasn’t just seen in the decor—it was felt in every handshake, shared memory and word of thanks. That pride stemmed from the understanding that these retirees made a meaningful difference through their work—in academic growth, student relationships and community impact.
“These individuals have been the steady hands and hearts behind so much of our success,” said Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Blaine. “The academic gains we’ve seen in recent years, especially in the aftermath of COVID-19, are not by accident. They are the result of hard work from people like those we’re celebrating today. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside many of them during my time in SBISD, and I’m deeply grateful. Once SBISD family, always SBISD family. I wish them the very best as they begin this next chapter.”
Throughout the reception, guests shared stories, laughter and quiet moments of gratitude for careers that were a calling for many. The retirees represented a broad range of roles—from classrooms and campuses to central office departments—all united by a shared commitment to students and a belief in the power of public education.
As the afternoon came to a close, the message was clear: their contributions matter, and they leave behind a legacy that others will continue to build upon.
